The Zolotyj Promin Dance Ensemble of Hartford, Connecticut was created in November of 1994 by a group of Ukrainian-American parents interested in giving their children the opportunity to learn Ukrainian culture and heritage through dance.  ​ Ukraine with a population of over 50 million people, is a country rich in history and culture. Ukrainian dance encompasses the diverse tradition, styles, and costumes of the various regions which make up Ukraine. This vibrant dance group currently enrolls over 100 children from all over CT from the age of 7 to 18. Their love of Ukrainian Dance not only shows in their talent and vigor but also in the acrobatic skills seen through their performance. From the traditional Pryvit or Welcome Dance, to the most revered and widely recognized Hopak or Finale Dance, the children's enthusiasm leads the audience into a spirited musical hand-clapping beat. In their colorful traditional costumes, the Zolotyj Promin Dance Ensemble has enchanted audiences at many events, including banquet festivals and concerts.
